Key Performance Areas
· Quality Acceptance (Assurance) control of work done by the Contractor; the Contractor will be responsible for the daily Process Control of the work offered.
· Applicants should be familiar with earthworks, compaction, densities and material characteristics for suitability in the works; reinforcement placing with respect to cover, spacing, positioning, correct identification of bars on the drawings and in place; falsework and shutters of required quality and to line and level and stability; concrete mixing and placing, cube tests and slumps including also for monitoring the concrete batching plant and with an understanding of concrete mix designs, water content and admixtures and structural steelwork all in accordance with the SANS 1200 Specifications and the Project and Particular Specifications.
· The works will also include for receiving and installing pipework, pumps, motors and valves etc. The cost of the works is some R150 million.
· The incumbent would be expected to have a good knowledge and understanding of the foregoing and be able to guide, direct and control members of the Medupi Execution Team who will carry out the daily detailed quality acceptance control and also to verify the daily QA inspections and witness holding points where the Contractor requires inspection and approval prior to successive works proceeding. Ensure that site based design activities are undertaken as may be necessary and approved by the Designer and that QA inspections are undertaken of items fabricated in workshops off-site and review method statements and OHSA procedures and compliance.
· The incumbent will be required to formulate a quality acceptance procedure so that all records can be archived on completion and as-built drawings produced and to keep a photographic record.
